Bitter Creek Ranch offers a breathtaking backdrop for couples who want their wedding to feel like an escape. Tucked away in the mountains of Red River, New Mexico, our ranch provides a secluded, high-altitude sanctuary where the air is crisp and the views are endless.
Our Space:
The Meadow: Open-air, beautiful views, perfect for a small vow ceremony.
The Ampitheater: Our natural grass amphitheater overlooking the stage set against a small lake is perfect for a larger ceremony or to soak up the sounds of a live performance.
Event Tent: The tent is designed to be more than just a rain backup; it's the heart of the ranch. Our Event tent features a dance floor and a small permanent stage, perfect for a small band, an intimate vow ceremony, or your wedding toasts. Spacious enough for a full sit-down dinner, the tent's structure creates a focused, "together" feeling that larger open-air spaces can sometimes lose. Located just steps from our larger grass amphitheater, the tent allows guests to transition naturally from a grand ceremony or show to a sit-down meal.
Logistics & Planning
Note on Seasons: Red River is beautiful year-round, but mountain weather can be unpredictable. We recommend June-early September for ceremonies.
Catering: We can offer catering services through Texas Reds Steakhouse, but we will also work with licensed outside caterers.
Accessibility: We have designated paths and parking to ensure all guests can reach the site, but please be mindful of the nature of our ranch; uneven (grass, gravel) surfaces are common and may be a challenge for some.
Elevation: We are located at just over 9,000 feet, so the weather can be unpredictable, nights can be chilly, and guests should be well hydrated to feel their best!
Capacity: For events under the tent, the capacity is 250. This allows space for the stage, tables, and dance floor. We can accomodate larger groups on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of the event.
